The new Basic Creme

A scientific explanation

This base cream allows a purely biological composition of the cream. Only substances used, which occur in the skin itself!

1. The Basic-cream is solely composed of the components of the skin lipids like:
   - Phospholipids
   - Triglycerides
   - Squalanes
   - Phytosteroles
   - Ceramides

   The Basic-Creme was developed to gain a neutral skin care cream that causes no irritations on skin and enables by its lipids an optimal release of the active agents.

2. The natural permeability boundary
   Understanding the structure of the DMS-concentrate means understanding the evolution and the factor of the natural permeability-boundary of the skin:
   
   Millions of years ago during the evolution process, when animal left water and went on land, their skin had to adapt to a completely new biochemical aspect, namely:
   how to keep the biological balance between the water within the body and the dry, rough environment outside.
   
   A mechanism had to be developed in order to regulate the balance of exchange of water-evaporation.
   
   Moreover, provisions had to be developed that no foreign substances would enter the body.
   Even though the human skin is extremely thin,
   - only a few millimetres divide the outer atmosphere from the blood capillaries –
   the skin is remarkably resistant against unrequired foreign substances.

3. The natural permeability – boundary
   If you have a look at this lipid-layer filling the space between the corneacytes like mortar in a brick-wall, you will find parallel lamellar lipid-structures.
   
   Electron microscopic photographs furnish proof that these lamellar lipid-structures really exist.
   Chemical analyses showed that these membranes mainly consist of the socalled
   - phospholipids
   - ceramides
   - cholesterols.
   
   Whereas, the surface skin-lipids consist of
   - triglycerides
   - squalanes.

   Laboratory experiments showed that the membrane structure of the lipid matrix is of enormous importance to the function boundary protection.
   
   The special structure provides a 100 to 10.000 times better protection than the same lipids not naturally structured in a lamellar way.

5. Ingredients of the Basic-concentrate of the cream base
   The ingredients of the Basic-concentrate are similar to the skin lipids of the stratum corneum.
   The Basic-concentrate consists of
   ∑ phospholipids – made of specially isolated soya-lecithin
   ∑ ceramides – produced by biofermentation
   ∑ triglycerides – isolated from carefully chosen palm-oil
   ∑ squalanes – isolated from olive-oil
   ∑ phytosterols – isolated from shea-butter, the chemical structure characteristics of which are similar to cholesterols

6. The difference
   The usual creams, manufactured in a classic way as oil in water or water in oil emulsions, need emulsifiers in order to reach homogeneity and stability.
   
   The typical strategy of all cream-manufacturers is to keep the amount of emulsifiers as low as possible with the intention to reduce the negative effects to a minimum, namely:
   
   Wash-out of the skin lipids causing a disturbance in the boundary protective function of the skin and in the balance of the water transportation through the stratum corneum.

7. The Basic-creams do not have the characteristics of oil in water or water in oil emulsions, instead they do react like the surface lipids of the skin.
   The Basisc-creamminimizes the negative effects to the skin, e.g. it prevents the wash-out of skin lipids so that neither the skin-boundary-function nor the balance of the water transmission through the stratum corneum is disturbed.

8. The Basic Cream– efficacy on the skin
   Efficacy on the skinThe disturbed function of the IL (intercellular lipids) is one of the biggest problems cosmetic trying to be solved by cosmetic-manufacturers and pharmaceutical industry.
   In the short term, disturbances and injuries of the skin can result in roughness, inflammations, scaliness, itchiness etc.
   
   In the long term, the disturbed functions of the skin lipids can cause further deseases that need medical treatment (allergic and microbiologic problems).
   
   The harmed function is caused by a disturbance of the metabolic disorder of the epidermal cells, also by environmental influences or aggressive detergents, but nowadays also by use of cosmetic products containing large amounts of emulsifiers.
   
   This is called the “wash-out-effect”! 
    
   Restoration of the natural lipid protective function with the Basic -creams
   Restoration and maintenance of the natural boundary protective function with a similar membrane structure and similar lipids represent a new development in scientific cosmetics.
   
   This lamellar matrix-system is perfectly formulated in order to apply to a wide range of skin care in an efficient manner.
